There is a microphone directly in front of the picture, but notice the white smoke of the blank passing thru the flames! December 10, 2006..... Our group had a unique opportunity of a lifetime! We were contacted by Tanglewood Road Productions, Ltd from Inverness, Calif. in reference to coming to Ohio and recording our cannon and small arms fire for the next filming of the "Pirates of the Caribbean - (Part III) At Worlds End"
The day was perfect in everyway. Planning was made far enough in advance to make sure that the citizens of Carey, OH and the surrounding area would know that we would be making "a lot of noise" that Sunday. The air was crisp and it was decided that we would use St. Mary's cemetery for this event. The reason was because of the quarry being right in the next field and the production team wanted to create the ambiance of having an "echoing" effect after the cannon was fired. The picture above was taken at the best possible moment in time for the firing of the original 1862 - 3 inch ordinance rifle. You can see the recording microphones and technician recording the event! Below you can find other photos from this shoot. Stay tuned for the upcoming "audio" from this opportunity!
